Easter Weekend.

Full moon on Easter saturday!

As per my family tradition, we drove up to our small farm in the Sunshine Coast hinterlands on Thursday, after I'd finished at work. It's about a 2 hour drive to the region of Obi Obi, the nearest town, Kenilworth, is 10 minutes away, and it's just the prettiest, greenest area. I'm a farm girl at heart so I absolutely live for these trips to the farm, to catch up with the cattle and take in the fresh air and unpolluted sunshine. Easter Sunday celebrations today were very relaxed- we drove home from the farm this morning and around 1 our cousins came over and we had a barbecue- and of course a lot of chocolate was consumed, in various forms!

Summer Story.

We had the most beautiful weather on the weekend, so my younger brother and some of his friends made their own water slide in our backyard. They were so eager they didn't even get changed into togs, just got soaked in their clothes. People (apparently experts) keep saying that children these days don't know how to have fun outdoors, but watching these boys, I'd say that's completely untrue.

Christmas Day.

Christmas day was absolutely lovely. Had the cousins, grandmother and grandfather, great-uncle AND my favourite uncle from Sydney even flew up.There was so much amazing food, I feel as though I won't have to eat again until this time next year! We thought that we might have a spot of bad luck with the weather but it was perfect- The late afternoon sun was so nice to play a spot of badminton in!

Crafty Business.

Christmas tomorrow is going to be a small affair for our extended family, so I'm making a pretty table feature out of a bunch of paper flowers! Looking forward to a lovely day with the family, I hope you have a fabulous day wherever you are and whomever you are with! xx

Good news!

Two lots of the very best of news came last night!
1) Our closest family friends' (more family than friends) eldest daughter is engaged! I'm so happy for her, especially considering her and her boyfriend are absolutely made for each other.
2) I got the job that I trialled for! This means one thing and one alone... I can afford to buy clothes!
I'm looking forward to establishing the routine with my newfound occupation.

South Coast.

I'm spending a few days with the dad and brother down at our unit at Broadbeach- basically it's a sleepy version of Surfers Paradise which is a welcome change from Schoolies Week. The weather yesterday and the day before was absolutely horrible, but today it's lovely! The ocean is a little rough but so warm, like stepping into a big, violent bathtub. Fingers crossed the weather holds out, although the forecast is looking less than agreeable...

'Tis the season.

Today brought about the traditional Christmas tree ordeal of my household. Mum is obsessive about the order in which we decorate the tree, but ultimately, it does look lovely! Took a few quick photos to show off the feature of our downstairs living space for the next month... Christmas is at our house this year, meaning all of our extended family will be coming over and we will literally eat all day!

Launch.

Applaud me! I’ve successfully completed 12 years of state-approved education, to be acknowledged with a watermarked certificate bearing the crest of my school, and a box of chocolates. Now that the bizarre week known as Schoolies is completed, I can happily never drink again, although I doubt that'll last past the next gathering…

It seemed that the conclusion to my schooling career dragged on for at least a fortnight, with celebrations beginning with high tea at Stamford Plaza for the group (plus mothers!). Generally I have a slight aversion to mother-inclusive events, but this worked really nicely. It was a fantastic opportunity to glimpse at life after school, and so far it is indeed sweet!
